Read more on CNET

At CES 2024, I expected to see a host of new automated and AI-assisted kitchen technologies, and the show didn't disappoint -- an AI steak toaster, an indoor meat smoker and a new type of microwave were only a few of the cutting-edge cooking products on display. What I didn't expect, however, was furtively chugging a small beer before a home-brewing demo was shut down by the authorities. And yet, there I was, sneaking a tiny sip (or two) of brew poured fresh from the tap at iGulu's F1 smart beer automated home brew appliance on the Las Vegas show floor before the convention cops stopped service.

Is the iGulu F1 “Worth It”? | The 5 C’s

One of the most frequent reactions we get when people first see the iGulu F1 is an immediate calculation of whether or not the machine is worth it, when compared to buying local craft beers or brewing in larger batches. We’re here to break it down.

Is the iGulu F1 “Worth It”? | The 5 C’s
  • Cost:  Lets save up money on 4-pack or 6-packs of craft beers purchased from a local brewery.
  • Convenience: Imagine the certainty you could have by having kegs of beer you’ve previously brewed, right at your fingertips
  • Culture: Beer has been around since 3500-3100 BC. That’s a long-standing tradition with some form of beer brewing culture in all cultures.
  • Community: Be a part of a larger community that shares the love for fermented beverages, the science behind the brewing process
  • Customizability: Regardless of your skill level, you’ll be able to create new unique brews worthy of praise and envy from your peers.
