Jeff and Taylor had always enjoyed discovering new drinks together. With iGulu, the experience began long before tasting—choosing what to make, following the process, planning the food, and waiting for the first glass side by side.

For Jeff and Taylor, the couple behind Romeo & Brewliet, trying new drinks has always been part of their relationship.

iGulu helped turn what once felt like Jeff's complicated hobby into a shared experience built around anticipation, date nights, and the satisfaction of saying, "We brewed this."

At FirstJeff had tried brewing before, but Taylor saw it as complicated and too time-consuming. What ChangediGulu gave them a more approachable way to follow the process and create something together. A Moment They LovedThey planned a sparkling wine dinner, checked the app, and waited for the first pour side by side. Why It Worked For ThemThey could enjoy making drinks at home without turning brewing into a full-time hobby or filling the house with equipment.

When Homebrewing Felt Like Jeff's Thing

Trying new drinks has always been one of Jeff and Taylor's small rituals.

When they go out, they often choose different drinks, taste each other's orders, and decide who made the better choice. The drink itself matters, but so does the experience surrounding it: sitting together, trying something unfamiliar, and having something new to talk about.

Brewing, however, originally felt different.

Jeff had tried brewing beer before, but from Taylor's perspective, the process did not look like something they would naturally do together.

"I watched Jeff try to brew a couple of times, and the experience was overwhelming and too time-consuming for me."

She could understand why he was interested, but she did not feel drawn into the process herself. It appeared to require more time and involvement than she wanted from an at-home activity.

iGulu changed how accessible homebrewing felt to Taylor.

Instead of Taylor simply watching Jeff work through his hobby, the process became something they could both follow. They could choose what to make, check the machine and app, and wait for the finished drink together.

Homebrewing had not stopped being Jeff's interest. It had simply become easier for Taylor to take part in it too.

A Sparkling Wine Batch Became a Shared Plan

The range of things they could make helped iGulu feel relevant to both of them.

Beer was still part of the experience, but it was no longer the only possibility. Wine, kombucha, yogurt, and non-alcoholic options gave them more ways to match what they made with different moods and occasions.

"Some nights you just want a non-alcoholic option, and it's convenient to have that choice, especially for get-togethers like barbecues."

Their sparkling white wine batch became one of the clearest examples of how brewing could fit naturally into their relationship.

Rather than simply opening a bottle at the beginning of an evening, Jeff and Taylor started thinking about the occasion in advance. They chose the sparkling wine and planned the food they would serve with it.

"It was fun picking out the wine and food in advance. We really got to put thought into our date night."

The wine was not a last-minute addition to dinner. It was something they had selected, waited for, and built the evening around. By the time they sat down together, the experience had already begun long before the first glass was poured.

The Best Part Was Saying, "We Brewed This"

Waiting became part of the experience too.

Jeff and Taylor kept checking the app and looking at the machine to see how the brew was progressing. Although the system handled much of the process, they still felt connected to what was happening.

They were not constantly working on the brew, but they were thinking about it, checking on it, and looking forward to tasting it.

When one of their beer batches was finally ready, the result was better than they had expected. Their first reaction was to message the people they knew and tell them how well it had turned out.

"We kept checking the app and the machine in anticipation. When the beer turned out better than we expected, we texted everyone we knew."

That excitement came from more than enjoying the taste. It came from being able to say that they had made it themselves.

"It's pretty cool to tell someone you brewed that. It's a sense of accomplishment."

For Jeff and Taylor, this is an important part of the value. The finished drink gives them the satisfaction of creating something at home, but the system remains relatively low-maintenance and does not require the amount of space associated with many other brewing setups.

An Honest Note: It Still Takes Planning and Patience

Homebrewing is not the same as opening a ready-made bottle. Jeff and Taylor still need to decide what they want to make, prepare the batch in advance, and wait for it to finish.

For them, however, the waiting becomes part of the anticipation. Checking the app, looking at the machine, planning the food, and wondering how the finished drink will taste all give them something to look forward to together.

Why It Also Felt Like a Meaningful Gift

Jeff and Taylor's families both hold large holiday parties, which is why they also saw iGulu as a meaningful Christmas gift.

They could imagine it adding something new to those gatherings: a drink chosen in advance, made at home, and served with a story behind it.

Instead of bringing another bottle to the party, the person serving it could say, "We brewed this."

For families who already enjoy gathering around food and drinks, that sense of participation can become part of the celebration itself.

From His Hobby to Their Experience

Jeff and Taylor still enjoy discovering new drinks in the same way they always have: choosing something different, tasting each other's selections, and comparing reactions.

With iGulu, they are no longer only choosing what to drink.

They can also choose what to make, follow the process together, plan an occasion around it, and share the satisfaction of tasting the finished result.
