Cannot Update Firmware

  • I finally installed my iGulu today. Well I tried to.    I eventually got the right version of the App so that I could create an account, and actually connect to the device.

The device is running Firmware 2.1.2, and the WiFi icon on the device indicates that is is connected to WiFi.  I can ping the device using the IP address my router assigned it.   However the App says teh device is offline. And when I attempt to update the firmware via the update menu on the device, it fails to update as well.

    Any Suggestions?

  • @John

When you go to Settings → Upgrade on the machine, what message is displayed?

The older system version of the machine may experience unstable Wi-Fi connections, so you can try using a mobile hotspot as a substitute for the Wi-Fi connection.

  • The messages are:

"Checking for Update  System version 2.1.2"

    and

"Check Unsuccessful, Please check the connection."

the router shows that it is trying to connect to:
    "uat.aigulu.com"

when I ping that host, the hostname comes back as: "expired.hichina.com"

is it possible it's pointing to an old server?  If so I could add in an entry to my home DNS that would point to the correct server, if you can provide the correct server IP...

If the file path has changed as well, I can setup a webserver on my local network to fake the old server and host the firmware locally if you can provide that...
